Brandon Shelton is a correctional officer at the Oregon Department of Corrections and a proud member of AFSCME Local 3941. He writes from the perspective of new staff and previously worked in EMS and social services. He has an Associate of Applied Science from Portland Community College and a Bachelor of Arts from Antioch University Seattle.
