Director of Community Corrections

SALARY

The minimum salary is $105,358.24 - $158,042.56 annually. This position is exempt and is not eligible for overtime; however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours. Pay Grade 534

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to provide leadership and direction to employees who maintain care,custody and control of over 1,200 inmates; and, provide a constitutional level of care within budget.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in corrections, criminal justice, business administration or related field; and, over ten (10) years of progressive experience in the criminal justice field with a preference in corrections; or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Oversees and leads the daily operations, development, and management of the division.
• Represents the division in public meetings and coordinates with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies on various projects, as needed.
• Directs the development of internal policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and regulations; ensures compliance with all laws and regulations.
• Prepares various reports for administration and provides special reports, policy, and procedure documents related to goals, objectives, and performance.

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

• Valid driver’s license.
