++THE POSITION++

The County Home School (CHS) is seeking to hire a Clinical Director to oversee, develop, and manage additional behavioral health programming and services at this site. This position would support staff, youth, and families in achieving individualized holistic health that are family driven, youth centered, and community supported. This position will work with all youth at the CHS which is a state-licensed residential treatment center for juveniles ages 13 to 18, and is a safe, secure, and healthy environment on a 167 acre site in Minnetonka, just 10 miles West of Minneapolis.

Location and hours: This position is located at the Hennepin County Home School, 14300 County Road 62, Minnetonka, MN 55345. There is no public transportation to this location. Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

About the position type: This position is full time, benefit-earning.

In this position, you will:         

  • Review and sign off on diagnostic evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes compiled by Social Workers.  
  • Provide consultation and training to staff and take part in resident team meetings with staff, families, or other providers/professionals as needed; lead and develop clinical team training and develop and implement clinical protocols for assessments, treatment plans, and strategies that will maximize therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare and social service professionals, families, and juvenile probation in multidisciplinary reviews of diagnostic work, treatment planning, and utilization of services and program resources.
  • Look actively for ways to expand and grow services and be innovative with programs to support families and youth in holistic health and well-being in their communities.
  • Support and lead continuous quality improvement and risk management culture in which key organization and agency performance indicators are routinely identified, monitored, and improved.
  • Provide clinical and programmatic oversight of residential treatment programs and ensure excellence in program accountability, performance, and outcomes.

Need to have:

  • Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA-approved program with appropriate clinical training and one year of post-doctoral experience as a clinical psychologist in a medical or mental health setting appropriate to the area of specialization.
  • Current certification as a Licensed Psychologist (LP) by the Minnesota Board of Psychology or eligibility to become licensed upon hire.

    • Conducting trauma-informed evaluations and treatments.
    • Using a culturally mindful approach to the application of clinical psychology principles, assessment, and service delivery to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Handling multiple complex and simultaneous tasks and making multiple collateral contacts while recognizing priorities and meeting deadlines.
    • Supervising professionals.
    • With program evaluation and design.

The department runs institutions, a treatment center, adult and juvenile probation, supervised release, provides mediation in parenting custody disputes, and administers alternative sentencing programs. Under facility licensing requirements, positions at the County Home School and/or Juvenile Detention Center are required to undergo a Department of Human Services Background Study (MS 245C.13). Individuals convicted for any level of Criminal Sexual Conduct are disqualified from being hired into any position within the DOCCR under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). Other past involvement with the criminal court system will not automatically disqualify you from working at the DOCCR; individual circumstances are reviewed and evaluated confidentially.
