Under general supervision, performs general office and clerical work of moderate difficulty within the Sheriff's Office Detention or Law Enforcement Divisions.
Major Duties, Responsibilities
Data Entry. (40%) Prepares reports for the public and other agencies. (30%) Answers phones, routes calls, take telephonic reports, house watches, provides basic information when requested. (25%) Performs other job-related duties as assigned. (5%)
- Communicate effectively verbally and in written form via telephone and other means of public contact.
- Receives, sorts, files and retrieves forms, mail and other types of documents.
- Performs basic clerical and office procedures.
Experience: Three (3) months of general office experience with any combination of education, training and/or experience, which demonstrates the potential to perform the duties of the positions.
Education: High school diploma or GED.

Other Skills: Working knowledge of business English, spelling, arithmetic, punctuation and grammar; office practices and procedures; report preparation and typing; filing and records maintenance, the operation of various office equipment; general understanding of polices and procedures. Control and maintenance of filing/record systems, ability to enter, compile and prepare data reports, accurate in complex proofreading, coding and checking for errors, working knowledge of keyboard device, data processing systems. Ability to make computations with speed and accuracy.
