CHICAGO — Governor Bruce Rauner has announced a new director for the Illinois Department of Corrections.
WAND17 reports that Donald Stolworthy will take over as department director. Stolworthy has 15 years of experience in corrections.
He began his career as a probation and parole officer in the Alaska Department of Corrections in 1999, and became the deputy commissioner of operations three years later.
He currently works as a corrections team leader at the U.S. State Department in the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.
