LEBANON, Pa. — A man with a history of sexually abusing girls has been charged again.

Lebanon County detectives filed the charges Wednesday after a woman said John Swartswelder Jr., 48, formerly of South Annville Twp., sexually assaulted her when she was between 7 and 17.

State law allows juvenile victims of sex offenses to report them until they turn 50. The accuser’s age now was not available.

Swartswelder’s charges include rape, statutory rape, indecent assault and corruption of minors.

He is in state prison for a 2000 conviction on similar charges. He is serving a 5- to 15-year sentence for incidents with a female relative between 1992 and 1998, starting when she was 7, in Lebanon and South Londonderry Twp. He is serving a concurrent sentence for sexually assaulting a 7-year- old girl in 1993 in his home.

He had also served four months in prison after pleading guilty in 1986 for the rape of a 5-year-old girl.
