Girl battling cancer becomes honorary Ga. CO

WARNER ROBBINS, Ga. — A girl battling neuroblastoma received a surprise from the Georgia Department of Corrections at her 7th birthday party Saturday.

Corrections officers surprised Karma Lilly Little at her party and made her an honorary CO, WMAZ reported.

Karma has wanted to be a police or corrections officer ever since she found out girls could be in law enforcement. Badges from different law enforcement agencies lined the walls of her party.

This isn’t the first time law enforcement has stepped up to support Karma. In August 2016, she spent a day with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office shadowing a deputy who gave her a tour of the investigations unit.

“We are honored just to be able to meet her and, much less, spend time with her and she’s certainly a blessing to our entire department,” Sgt. Slate Simons said at the time. “She’s our little sister now and we’re going to take good care of her.”

Karma received another surprise after she returned from a clinical trial in October 2016 after getting a visit from the NYPD. She was made an honorary deputy by the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office.

“It just really touched me like I’ve never been touched before and she’s very special,” Sheriff Darren Mitchum said.
