MEXICO CITY — Hammering disguised with sound from a TV can be heard in a new video of Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzman’s daring escape from a high security prison.

The BBC reports that the video is a longer version of the previous footage released by the government shortly after Guzman’s escape.

In the video, 26 minutes pass before a correctional officer notices Guzman’s empty cell, and reports a “big hole” to other officers.

It’s not made immediately clear that Guzman is gone – instead, the officer goes to the hole and calls for the inmate several times. Then he notifies his commander.

“Listen, and the inmate is not there?” The commanding officer asks.

“No boss, he’s not,” the officer replies.

Though Guzman’s cell was supposed to be monitored regularly by officers in the control center, it’s unclear what they could see on the footage.

They failed to notice Guzman disappearing behind a small wall dividing his shower from the rest of his cell.

This is the second time Guzman has escaped from a high-security prison in Mexico. He has been on the run since July 11.
