BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation honored 92 employees — including two from Kern County — during its annual Medal Of Valor Ceremony on Thursday.
Two correctional officers from North Kern State Prison in Delano were honored as “Gold Star” recipients, a CDCR news release said.
Dominic Reed rescued passengers from a crashed vehicle, the news release said, and Benjamin Ledesma came to the aid of a fellow officer during an inmate attack and suffered stab wounds.
