CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A correctional officer’s gun and TASER were stolen from the trunk of his vehicle.
Action News reports that Ofc. Troy Brown found the trunk of his car jarred open last Thursday, his gun, ammunition, TASER and belt missing.
However his wallet, badge and uniform were left untouched.
He reported the stolen items to his department. The items are treated like any other reported stolen items; the serial number of the gun is put into a system for later identification if the weapon is recovered.
Brown says he is installing security cameras that will face the area where he parks his car to better address any future thefts.
