CORK, Ireland — Following a fight over a TV remote inside the Cork Prison, a man died when another inmate stabbed him.
The Independent reports that the man suffered fatal chest and throat injuries after being slashed with a homemade blade.
Prison staff responded immediately to the incident, and the man received emergency medical treatment at the scene. The man had sustained critical injuries and died before he could be taken to a nearby hospital.
The inmate responsible for the stabbing has been moved into a secure holding cell. The incident is being investigated.
