SAN ANTONIO — Fifteen corrections officers and one civilian employed at the Bexar County Jail earned national certifications this week from the American Correctional Association.
“We are really raising the bar, so I'm proud of each one of you,” Sheriff Susan Pamerleau told them during a ceremony Tuesday.
The 16 honored are among the first jail employees to be nationally certified, Pamerleau said. They make up about 2 percent of the jail's 830 employees, but 20 more have expressed an interest in taking the test, she said.
