OKLAHOMA CITY — A convicted Oklahoma rapist said in a court filing he may kill himself if he does not receive a requested sex-change operation at state expense.
Ronny Darnell, imprisoned in 2005 for raping a 13-year-old girl, has repeatedly asked for sex-reassignment surgery, The (Oklahoma City) Oklahoman reported Thursday.
Referring to himself as a female in federal court documents, Darnell wrote in his filing, “Ms. Ronny Darnell has made a pact with herself that if at age 45 she had not achieved her goal of getting back on hormone therapy, she would consider her life hopeless and meaningless ... In the absence of becoming a female, she would not continue living as a male.”
