JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A corrections officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has been charged with domestic battery, police said.
Sgt. Troy Harris, 49, a 14-year-employee, was arrested Monday following an investigation by the integrity unit, Undersheriff Dwain Senterfitt said.
On Monday, Harris’ wife told officers she and her husband argued Sunday and that she was repeatedly pushed into the couch and also punched in the arm. She did not decide to call police until the next day, she told investigators.
Harris has been assigned to an administrative post until the criminal case is resolved. An internal review will follow once that is finished.
