SAN FRANCISCO — A Solano County Jail inmate injured three sheriff’s deputies Monday morning in a failed escape attempt involving a fire extinguisher at the Fairfield courthouse, the Solano County Sheriff’s Office said.
Joseph Michael Schabert, 24, of Vacaville tried to make a run for it while he was in the holding area of the jail about 11:30 a.m., said sheriff’s deputy Daryl Snedeker.
The holding area is a series of hallways used to transfer inmates to courtrooms in the Solano County Courthouse. Schabert has been in custody since he was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of probation violation and failure to appear for a felony drug case.
