TULSA, Okla. — Inmate Michael Lee Wilson wants the state Pardon and Parole Board to commute his death sentence to life in prison.

He is one of four men found guilty in the Feb. 26, 1995, beating death of 30-year-old Richard Yost, who was found bound and beaten on the floor of a convenience store’s cooler, according to NewsOK. According to authorities, Yost was struck dozens of times with a baseball bat.

Two co-defendents have been executed for the crime while the fourth was sentenced to life in prison.

A clemency hearing is scheduled Monday for Wilson. He was convicted of first-degree murder and his execution is set for Jan. 9.
