SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. — Refusing to submit to a DNA swab of his mouth, a Sonoma County Jail inmate fought correctional officers and was struck with two TASER barbs before five officers finally wrestled him into submission, authorities said Tuesday.

Travis Lee Carr, 21, is being held on a felony charge of resisting arrest by using force against an officer and refusing to allow the swab, a misdemeanor, sheriff’s Sgt. Dave Pedersen said.

One officer suffered minor injuries in the fight and was expected to be temporarily off duty, Pedersen said.

Carr was arrested last week by the CHP after being stopped for not wearing a seat belt, according to the CHP. He was arrested on suspicion of marijuana transportation and driving while under the influence of marijuana.
