AURORA, Colo. — An unruly inmate is being held responsible for breaking a corrections officer’s ribs during a struggle at the Aurora Police Department.

The Beacon News reports that Antonio Alanis was taken into custody on criminal trespassing and battery charges. He was taken to the police station where he became increasingly combative.

He fought with police officers and corrections officers as they attempted to place him in a holding cell to calm him down.

At one point, Alanis got free and put one of the COs in a choke hold.

Later on, another CO attempted to take Alanis’ shoes off as a safety precaution. Alanis kicked the CO in the chest multiple times, fracturing two of the officer’s ribs.

It took a TASER to get Alanis under control. He’s been charged with felony battery to a corrections officer and aggravated battery to a peace officer.
