NEW YORK — Following an unprecedented sweep for contraband at Rikers Correctional Facility, 12 corrections officers could find themselves on the other side of the bars.

NY Daily News reports that two corrections officers were already arrested for possession of pot and coke, and 100 more officers were searched at the George Motchan Detention Center.

Investigators turned up marijuana, an iPad with a Wi-Fi card and an air deodorizer that masked the smell of the marijuana inside an inmate’s cell.

Sources say that a minimum of 12 cases tied to corrections officers and supervisors will be referred to prosecutors for possible criminal charges.
