Contraband: Tattoo gun hiding place

A C1 member sent in these photos of a very unique hiding place for a tattoo gun.

“During a shakedown in our segregation unit officer noticed drawings in an inmate’s cell that looked like they were used as stencils for a tattoo,” the C1 member wrote. “They were not able to find a tattoo gun though. Before placing the inmate back in his cell they again did a thorough pat search and took his shoes.

“After looking closer at his shoes they found a tattoo gun in an area hollowed out in the factory insoles. The insoles were secured in the shoe so well that they initially felt like they were glued down.

“He had a spot hollowed out in both shoes so he wouldn’t wear one more than the other. Anytime he came out of his cell he put his shoes on thus keeping it safe whenever he was out of his cell. This was found because an astute officer followed up on a suspicion and resulted in one less tattoo gun in the facility.”
