ORISKANY, N.Y. — A Westmoreland woman was accused of trying to slip drugs to her son at Oneida County jail Saturday, Oneida County sheriff’s deputies said.

Christine A. Schremmer, 46, of Acee Road, was charged with felony first-degree promoting prison contraband, deputies said.

Around 1:15 p.m., Schremmer was visiting her son and attempted to pass him a Buprenorphine pill, which is a controlled substance, officials said.

Her attempt was thwarted by correction officers, and Schremmer was taken into custody.

Schremmer was arraigned and remanded to the jail on $5,000 cash or bond. She is scheduled to return to court.
