LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An inmate undergoing a routine pat down is now facing a charge of first degree assault when the CO performing the pat down was pricked by a needle hidden in the inmate’s clothing.

According to WDRB, Dylan Baker, 19, had a needle sewn into the collar of the jacket he was wearing. It’s not clear whether the pat down was being conducted during booking, but the officer was struck by the needle and exposed to biohazard and the contents of the needle.

It’s not clear what was, if anything, in the needle.

The CO was placed on anti-viral drugs as a result of the encounter. Baker was charged with first degree assault, first degree wanton endangerment and possession of contraband.
