HOMINY, Okla. — A corrections officer discovered a present Christmas Day in what officials are calling “one of the largest attempted contraband drops of the year.”
The CO discovered an inmate walking with a bag inside the Dick Conner Correctional Center and stopped him, KFOR reported.
The inmate turned over the bag without incident and officers found 12 items, including six footballs and two basketballs, stuffed with contraband.
Surveillance footage allegedly shows people outside the fence of the facility throwing packages over to inmates on the inside.
Authorities are still looking for the individuals who delivered the items to inmates.
In total, officials discovered 39 phones, three MP3 players, a Bluetooth earpiece, nine phone chargers, 20 USB cords, five packages of rolling papers, four cigars, and 9.5 pounds of tobacco.
