BROWN COUNTY, Texas — A threat to Brownwood police prompts law enforcement to address the need for tighter security around the jail. Police say they found a YouTube video shot in the parking lot of the police department making the alleged threats. Employees of the Brown County Jail have some concerns of their own regarding contraband being smuggled in.
The Brown County Jail is just like any other jail, with contraband made by inmates on the inside, some items are just crafted necklaces and harmless objects, but others are more serious.
“We’ve had some weapons and some potentially dangerous things constructed also with some of the metal that they are able to pull out of the wall or out of the lights,” Les Karnes said.
