WENATCHEE, Wash. — A Chelan County jail inmate faces drug charges after police say he attempted to smuggle heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, smokeless tobacco and prescription antidepressants to some fellow jail occupants.
Jake W. Luczynski, 24, of Leavenworth was incarcerated on charges of meth possession and shoplifting when he was granted a 12-hour furlough for a job orientation Oct. 26.
Wenatchee police say when he returned to the Chelan County Regional Justice Center, he carried the plastic-bagged drugs and contraband in his stomach, which he then regurgitated in his segregation cell.
Luczynski hid the narcotics in some rolled-up socks in his property bin, where jail staff found them during a search, police said. He told investigators other inmates had asked him to procure the drugs for them, according to police reports.
Luczynski was arraigned Wednesday on three charges of unlawful drug possession with intent to deliver, plus a charge of possessing drugs in a correctional institution.
