SPOKANE, Wash. — KREM 2 on Your Side learned the Spokane County Jail is in serious need of nurses.
Staff at the jail said they are in need of more corrections officers too but the biggest need is for nurses. They said employees have to work extra to meet the needs of the jail because they are short staffed. This means they do not have enough nurses to evaluate inmates when they are booked into jail.
The jail would normally have 26 nurses on staff but there are only 17.
