Fla. jail looking to hire more medical staff following explosion

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — More medical staff is being sought for the Escambia County Jail following a deadly explosion in April that killed 2 and wounded nearly two hundred people.

CBS News reports that the county is investigating allegations that prisoners experienced excessive wait times for medical attention and were only given aspirin instead of appropriate treatment.

Two inmates died and a corrections officer was paralyzed in the April blast.
