UNITED KINGDOM — Prisoners at an unidentified correctional facility filmed and posted video of themselves celebrating one inmate’s birthday with contraband cell phones.
The Daily Mail reports that the inmates are seen drinking alcohol and smoking drugs.
The footage appeared online this week, and has been circulated among former prisoners using the encrypted WhatsApp messaging service. It was then posted publicly on Facebook.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Justice denied rumors that the footage came from the high-security facility in Belmarsh, and said that the videos were under investigation.
