Their job every day is to watch over the lowest form of life, the inmate. They have no regard for human life, so it takes nothing to assault an officer, knowing there are no stiff penalties for the crime.
They beat and stab officers every day and no one hears about it. Yet, these men and women of law enforcement still go to work every day not knowing if it’s the last day they will see their families. What makes me crazy is how the state does not provide full pay for a correctional officer assaulted on the job. How could that be?
