$15K reward in case of murdered corrections officer

MIAMI GARDENS — The widow of a Miami-Dade corrections officer who was gunned down in front of his own home made a plea to the public Friday to help police find the person responsible for murdering her husband. In addition, the reward for information that will lead to the killer is going up.

Andrew Johnson, 46, was a 10-year veteran of the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department who was shot in the driveway of his Miami Gardens home on Saturday Dec. 1st.

“They really took a hole in my household,” said Ebony Johnson exclusively to CBS4′s Peter D’Oench. “They really destroyed my house.”

Ebony Johnson spoke out Friday, with more than two dozen Miami-Dade Corrections Officers who worked with her husband, by her side.
