MARIENVILLE — Two corrections officers were stabbed by an inmate at a prison in Forest County on Saturday morning.

State police in Marienville said a 22-year-old male inmate used a “sharpened piece of hard plastic” to stab a 28-year-old officer and a 48-year-old officer, both male, at the State Correctional Institution at Forest, in Jenks Township, at about 8:15 a.m.

Police said both officers were treated at Clarion Hospital and released.

Police have not identified the inmate, but said aggravated assault charges are pending.
