Accused jail escapee robs bank, bitten by K9

STOCKTON, Calif. — A man arrested this past weekend for bank robbery turned out to be a jail escapee.

CBS News reports that authorities discovered that Pedro Arquiaga, 19, had escaped from the San Joaquin County Honor Farm in December 2014.

News 10 reports that Arquiaga was bitten by a K9 after refusing to comply with officers’ orders when they caught him walking out of a bank shortly after robbing it.

He was treated for his injuries and will also face escape charges. He was originally booked on charges of obstructing a police officer, receiving stolen property, burglary, vehicle theft, and hit and run.
