HANCOCK COUNTY, Ohio — A man was arrested after he allegedly broke into the home of an off-duty correctional officer and assaulted him.

NBC reports that Kevin Potts, 38, was arrested for aggravated burglary, felonious assault and using weapons while intoxicated.

Potts allegedly broke into the house of a unnamed correctional officer, who called police and struggled with Potts until authorities arrived. Potts is reported to have produced a gun during the incident.

Potts is currently being held at the Wood County Justice Center on $500,000 bond.

It’s unclear if he targeted the officer’s home purposefully, or if he has a prior history with the officer.

The officer suffered minor injuries during the altercation and is currently recovering.
