CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The man who shot dead a Lanesboro Correctional Institute officer pleaded not guilty Thursday.
WCNC reports that Raphael White rejected a plea deal as his attorney stated the shooting of Bias Easley was done in self-defense.
Easley’s sister-in-law disagreed, saying the shooting was premeditated. She claimed White was angry at Easley on Tuesday, and came back to shoot him the following Thursday.
A trial date for the case has not yet been set.
