TRION, Ga. — Authorities are investigating the deaths of two inmates who were killed in separate incidents this week at the Hays State Prison in northwestern Georgia.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press Thursday reported Damien McClain was killed in a fight in a prison cell Wednesday morning. The newspaper reports the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has charged Daniel Ferguson with murder, and agents were inside the facility Thursday conducting interviews.
Authorities are also probing the death of 25-year-old Derrick Stubbs, who was found dead while housed in protective custody Saturday.
Calls to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia Department of Corrections Thursday were not immediately returned.
