MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Several correctional officers were rushed to a hospital after a fire broke out inside a cell Wednesday morning.
NBC news reports that one officer was seen being put into an ambulance on a stretcher and rushed from the scene.
An undisclosed number of officers suffered smoke inhalation. All of the injured were treated and released, according to prison officials.
Correctional staff put the fire out quickly. The prison then returned to normal operations.
