OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — A prison guard is under investigation after police say she left a loaded gun on the floor of the women’s restroom in the waiting room of OU Children’s Hospital.
OU Health Sciences Center Police say an adult found the fire arm and notified the medical staff who called for campus police. “It is alarming,” said OUSCH Police Chief James Alberston, “It’s probably something you don’t want to find just laying around.”
Chief Albertson says they were lucky the gun was not discovered by a child. An investigation determined the gun, which was found in a gun belt, belonged to a female guard from the Mabel Basset Correctional Center.
