JARRATT, Va. — Charges are pending for a Greensville Correctional Center officer after he drove around train crossing arms and was struck by a train.
According to the Sussex Surry Dispatch, CO Duane Anthony Hodges “drove his vehicle around the crossing arms, which were in the down position, and in proper operating order.”
His car was then struck by a northbound traveling Amtrak train.
Hodges was flown to a nearby medical center with life-threatening injuries. There were no reports of injuries on the train.
An investigation is pending.
