SUFFIELD, Conn. — A correction officer at the MacDougall-Walker Correction Institute in Suffield was assaulted by an inmate Saturday night.
A Department of Corrections spokesperson confirmed to Eyewitness News the officer was attacked by an inmate shortly before 9:30 p.m. The inmate has been identified as 23-year old Terrill Edge.
Edge is serving three years for violation of a protective order.
Officials said Edge punched and kicked the officer several times.
