EAST KINGSTON, NH — A man out building snowmen with his daughter ended up protecting his family from an escaped inmate with a baseball bat.
FOX News reports that Mark Chetwynd was outdoors with his daughter in the snow when the inmate suddenly appeared. Tyler Beliveau had escaped custody while getting x-rays from Exeter Hospital.
Chetwynd immediately sent his daughter inside to be with his wife, while he grabbed the first thing to come to hand – a T-ball bat.

He used it to ward the inmate off and out of a truck he’d climbed into.
Police arrived and used a stun gun on Beliveau, but the inmate was still able to run off. Chetwynd managed to knock Beliveau out with the T-ball bat.
Beliveau is facing new charges after his attempted escape.
