WASHINGTON — A 40-year veteran and current chaplain of the D.C. jail has been selected by the Salvation Army as chaplain of the year.
Betty Green, 68, who started working with the D.C. Department of Corrections in 1973, received the award Tuesday during the American Correctional Association’s annual summer conference at the Gaylord National Resort at the National Harbor, officials said.
