VOLUSIA COUNTY — Inmate Stanley Gainey struck one corrections officer on Saturday and threatened to go to the residence of another, according to an arrest report.
As reported by the News-Journal Online, Gainey lives in the same neighborhood as corrections officer Lt. Wanda Edwards. Gainey began to yell out Edwards’ address so that other inmates could hear.
According to the arrest report, Gainey – serving time for a drug offense – said that he would go to her house and “harm her family.”
Deputies who arrived at the facility to question Gainey could not do so as he had been placed in solitary confinement for striking another corrections officer. He was charged with threatening a public servant and battery on a law enforcement officer.
