BUCHANAN, Mo. — A civilian detention officer with the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department was shot at over the weekend, the sheriff’s office has confirmed.
St. Joe Channel reports that the officer was unharmed and no bullets were found, leaving police to determine if the shot fired was a blank.
The shooter reportedly yelled “die, pig, die” at the officer.
The officer was reported to be wearing a uniform with a law enforcement logo at the time of the incident.
The suspects are described as two Hispanic males in their late teens or early 20s, driving a late 1960s or early 1970s model green Dodge. The officer did not recognize the suspects and officials do not believe they are connected to the jail.
