PITTSBURGH, Pa. – A former corrections officer has been found guilty of lying to U.S. marshals who were looking for his brother, a fugitive in a federal drug case.

The Post-Gazette reports that Ralph Currington was still employed as a corrections officer at the time he made a false statement to law enforcement.

Federal marshals interviewed him on September 23, 2013, regarding his brother Frank Currington, for whom they had an outstanding warrant for heroin trafficking.

Currington lied about when he’d last had contact with his brother, when he’d last seen him and about his knowledge of his brother’s location.

Currington will be sentenced in November.
