HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A recent shooting involving a Madison County Detention Center officer will go before an upcoming grand jury, according to Huntsville police.
WHNT reports that investigators advised not arresting Officer Jeremy Primus, who was involved in the shooting, since there are questions that he may have been acting in self-defense.
Primus has been confirmed to have been the person who shot Jason Akeem Lewis in the chest. Lewis later died at Huntsville Hospital.
Primus left the scene and later turned himself into the police. He is currently on administrative leave.
