WAUSAU, Wisc. — CO Julie Christensen returned to work at the Marathon County Jail on a limited basis, almost a year after being critically wounded by an inmate.
According to the Wausau Daily Herald, Christensen was one of two officers injured in a March atack. She spent weeks in a coma in the intensive care unit at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
In response to the attack, the jail has undergone a massive overhaul of policies and procedures, and has upgraded critical equipment to enhance the overall safety at the facility.
