Inmate convicted of assaulting prison employees sentenced to more time in prison

This new sentence will be served consecutively to the 15 to 30 years he is serving for a 2012 armed robbery in Oceana County

JACKSON, Mich. — A prisoner convicted of assaulting two corrections officers in July 2012 will see at least six years and four months added to his sentence.

Jackson County Circuit Judge John McBain ordered William Cody Schaefer, 28, on Wednesday, May 28, to serve six years and four months to 20 years in prison for two counts of assault on prison employees Steven Kinney and Nicholas Sanford.

This new sentence will be served consecutively to the 15 to 30 years he is serving for a 2012 armed robbery in Oceana County.
