BALTIMORE COUNTY — Officials say that the Baltimore County police officer who was involved in a struggle with an inmate at a local hospital, did not fire her weapon.

Police say that before the shooting on Dec. 5, inmate Brian Dargan was being held at District Court to St. Joseph’s Medical Center, where he was getting medical treatment. He was allowed to go to the Medical Center after receiving a $25,000 bail for burglary charges.

Authorities confirm that an investigation has revealed that inmate Dargan fired the officer’s weapon as he attempted to escape.

He fired the gun at three-year police veteran Rosa Park, according to officials.
