LOUISVILLE, Ky. — House members approved a measure that would allow victims in juvenile court proceedings to speak about their cases once the process is completed.
House Bill 115, which passed 93-0, stems from the Louisville case of Savannah Dietrich, who faced a contempt charge for tweeting the names of two boys who had assaulted her.
An amendment made to the bill on the floor Monday added language to the original bill that says the victim may speak only after the case has been adjudicated. It will now go to the Senate for consideration.
