RICHLAND COUNTY, La. — Several members of the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Department were honored for their service during their annual Christmas banquet.

Clorinda Guice was honored as Communications Officer of the Year; Angela Ausberry was named Corrections Officer of the Year; and Lt. Kilee Miller was named Detention Center Supervisor of the Year.

“While we are proud of all our deputies, we began an awards program last year to recognize the Supervisor of the Year from both sheriff’s office and detention center, as well as Deputy of the Year from each,” Sheriff Lee Harrell said, according to Richland Today. “This year we added two awards: Communications Officer of the Year and the Chuck Stephenson Service Award.”

The Chuck Stephenson Award was created in order to recognize an employee who not only serves the sheriff’s office well, but goes beyond the call to serve the public and is community-minded. Its recipient was Deputy Charles Johnston, who was credited with working endlessly at organizing the department’s charitable events.
